Abstract:

This study aims to identify if there is a significant relationship between the perceived investment preferencesand level of risk and return. This study is a descriptive study. The researchers selected 25 high school teachers from 2 private and 2 public schools located in Malabon which are Malabon National High School, Tinajeros National High School, Probex School Inc. and De La Salle Araneta University with a total of 100 respondents. Researchers used purposive sampling that focuses on characteristics of a population which will best enable to answer the research questions. The respondents were asked as to their age, gender, civil status, educational attainment, category of school and range of income. To identify what is the most preferred type of investment, they were asked to rank the different types of investment. Spearman Rhowas used to know if there is a relationship between the perceived investment preferences according to the level of risk and return. Accordingly, the result shows that most of the respondents are females, single with an average income of Php 20,000 above and are Licensed Professional Teachers (LPT). The researchers therefore conclude that there is no relationship between investment preference regarding on what category of school whether it is private or public when age, income, educational attainment and civil status is measured. We also conclude that some of the respondents are unaware or there is a lack of knowledge in terms of other types of investment.
