Waste management is a critical environmental strategy that safeguards human health and fosters a sustainable environment. This research aims to develop an innovative smart trash system utilizing IoT devices to automate waste segregation and monitoring. The system employs a color-coding detection mechanism to differentiate waste types, while integrated sensors monitor the bin’s fill level and weight, triggering alerts when the set thresholds are reached for optimal waste disposal. Additionally, the materials used in constructing the smart trash bin ensure accurate color differentiation and precise detection. Comparative testing conducted by experts confirms that the system performs reliably, with actual outcomes aligning with expected results. The successful performance of all components highlights the potential of the prototype as a practical tool for communities, promoting responsible waste management and contributing to a cleaner, safer environment.
